Thanks !

2) Again A big THANK YOU (yes, I’m shouting!) to everyone who bought Dream Trip raffle tickets.  This is for a great cause, The Annual Georgia TU Trout Camp!  Click here is a list of winners!

2) The annual Sweep the Hooch is an annual watershed-wide trash cleanup that brings together hundreds of volunteers each year at dozens of parks, tributaries, and access points along the Chattahoochee River. On March 27, 2021 more than 1,200 volunteers worked together to remove tons of trash from the Chattahoochee watershed.  Once again Tailwater hosted and cleaned Buford Dam West from the damn on the west side of the river down to Bowman’s Island!  It was a great success thanks to you all the Tailwater volunteers and our leader Bill Egeland!

Big bass

19″ Large Mouth taken on a 5 wt. with a PGM Super Cricket!

3)The Warm Water fishing is really turning on.  Bass, Bream and Crappie all all eager to take top water poppers, steamers and nymphs.  A great combination is the popper dropper!  A popper with a prince nymph or Pat’s Rubber Legs or PGM Super Cricket is a killer! Time to get out and do some fishing!  A fat bream or crappie on a 2 or 3 wt. is a blast!

We got in a bit of lake fishing!

Posted on March 16, 2020

I swear that sunfish jumped this high!

Blayne Cohran and I managed to get some lake fishing in a couple weekends ago.  Fishing was tough.  A front had come through keeping the air a bit chilly and the lake was really muddy!  Later in the afternoon the water warmed up enough to finally connect with some small sunfish and one crappie!  Fly fishing with the PGM Super Cricket was the ticket!  Hopefully we’ll see some sun and clear skies as we move into spring and get some clearer water.  They are still generating the Hooch so that’s out for a while but the ponds, lakes and small streams should get progressively better.  Lanier stripers are starting together more active so that should kick up nicely very soon!

Smithgall Woods Dukes Creek Trophy

Posted on March 20, 2016

Johan
If you think only big fish are at the fishing resorts think again! Our friend Johan had a great day at Smithgall Woods recently.  That stream is notoriously difficult to fish but he obviously had the magic offering and presented it perfecly!   Here is the weblink for the park.  And for a great article click this link!
