Tuesday, January 26, 2009 Tuesday, February 23, 2009 The Tailwater Chapter of Trout Unlimited meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Buford Trout Hatchery or Tanner's Chicken Rotisserie, which ever is warmest. Unless otherwise noted, eatin' at 6:30pm, meetin' at 7:30pm. Directions to the Buford Trout Hatchery: From GA 400 take Hwy. 20 East towards Buford. Turn left into the Chattahoochee River Club subdivision main entrance (Club Drive). Turn Right at the 4th street (Trout Place). Go down the hill through the gate, bear right at the headquarters building and the meeting will be in the large maintenance building. From I-985 take the Hiway 20 exit towards Buford. Cross Buford Hiway, then Peachtree Ind. Go about six miles and look for River Club Dr. on your right (this is about a mile after you cross the river). Turn right, drive to Trout Place Rd. Take a right, go down the hill through the gates. The maintenance building is to the right. Season's Greetings, A reminder that the Tailwater TU Christmas party is next week. Next Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00pm to be exact ( a little later than our usual start time to be able to stop at the Wal-Mart for that White Elephant gift). Our next monthly meeting will be in January. For those planning to attend, below is the address to Brian Smith's home where we will be having the party. Use Google Maps (in the top left corner when you go to Google) and type the address in the "search" cell. Email me if you have problems, I can't include it here because my work server won't let Google Maps run properly. Remember if you want to have a go at the white elephant gift exchange the theme will be humorous trout fishing related gifts with a max value of around $10 to $20. Bass Pro Shops had those swell trout pillows for $12.97 last Friday. I already have one so I won't be bringing one or going after one. If you plan to attend, please respond to this email so we can figure out approximately how many folks will be there as the chapter provides the meal. This is casual. Think bucket chicken. Tailwater TU volunteered along with members of other TU chapters, NGTO, and The Meetup Group at Smith Creek. The volunteers helped DNR clean the trails, strengthen stream banks with bundled limbs, and create stream restrictors.
