I have been fishing the Nantahala River for years. With the institution of the Delayed Harvest section on the Upper Nantahala a unique opportunity was created.
This is one of my favorite and rewarding rivers in the Southeast. Not only are the stream aesthetics outstanding, with some of the most beautiful scenery in Georgia, the region is steeped with rich history and lore. A strong, vibrant, diverse ecosystem supports amazing hatches and healthy fish. Add to that the possibility of catching quality trout and you have a river experience not to be missed.
Do not mistake this for an "easy" river. As with all rivers some days can be challenging, but once you visit this river I know you'll share my enthusiasm and excitement.
Like my book The Definitive Guide to the Tuckaseegee Delayed Harvest, this book is intended to help you learn the Upper Nantahala Delayed Harvest and be productive as soon as possible!
Read the book and then when you get to the river, first take a deep breath and breathe it in, then have a Great Day Fishing!
